On 27 June 2025, the Governance Board of the SustAInLivWork Centre of Excellence convened for its scheduled meeting to elect the Director of the SustAInLivWork Centre of Excellence (Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence). Following a comprehensive evaluation process, the Board unanimously appointed Professor Dr Agnė Paulauskaitė-Tarasevičienė to assume the role of Director.

Professor Dr Paulauskaitė-Tarasevičienė has been actively contributing to the development of artificial intelligence (AI) research, education, and public engagement for many years. Until her appointment, she had been serving as Acting Head of the Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence and holds the position of Professor at the Faculty of Informatics at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU).

Her leadership in AI integration into higher education has been recognised nationally. In 2019, she led a working group that developed strategic recommendations for enhancing AI topics within university study programmes and subsequently contributed to the development of a national AI integration strategy for academic curricula. Under her leadership, KTU launched Lithuania’s first bachelor’s degree programme in Artificial Intelligence, which successfully commenced in September 2020.
